Two of our eight kits — Wall Decor Set (B-02) and Renter Refresh Kit (B-08) — are designed to leave little or no permanent mark on walls. We want them to work for you. But “removable” is not a guarantee, and your relationship with your landlord is yours, not ours.
1. What we promise
- The peel-and-stick wallpapers we ship are rated by the manufacturer for clean removal on standard interior latex-painted walls, applied after the paint has cured for at least 30 days.
- The adhesive hooks in our Picture-Hanging Kit and Renter Refresh Kit are tested to hold up to 3 kg per hook and are designed to release with the included removal tab without leaving residue.
- The vinyl decals in our Renter Refresh Kit use a low-tack adhesive rated for clean removal within 12 months of application on standard latex paint.
2. What we cannot promise
- Removal will be clean on textured surfaces: popcorn ceilings, woodchip wallpaper, brick, raw plaster, stone.
- Removal will be clean on freshly painted walls (under 30 days from painting). New paint has not finished curing and may pull away with the adhesive.
- Removal will be clean on chalk paint, lime paint, limewash, or any other porous or matte mineral finish.
- Removal will be clean on walls with very old / brittle paint (paint over 10 years old can lift in strips regardless of what is attached to it).
- Your landlord will agree that “removable” counts as “no damage” or that they will not deduct from your deposit. That is a matter for your tenancy agreement and local rental law, not for us.
3. What we strongly recommend before applying anything
- Patch test for 48 hours. Apply one small decal or a 10×10 cm wallpaper sample to a hidden, low-visibility area (behind a wardrobe, low on a wall). Wait 48 hours. Peel slowly. Inspect for residue, surface staining, or paint lift. If anything pulls away — do not proceed.
- Read your tenancy agreement / lease. Some agreements prohibit any wall modification — even removable. Some require landlord consent for hangings over a certain weight. If yours does, our removable kits are not the right choice for you.
- Photograph the wall with date stamp before applying. Use your phone’s date/location metadata. If there is later a deposit dispute, you have evidence of the original condition.
- Ask your landlord if you are unsure. Most landlords prefer being asked over being surprised. Email is good — it creates a record.
- Allow time for clean removal. Plan to remove decals / wallpaper 1–2 weeks before move-out so any small touch-ups can be made.
4. If something goes wrong on removal
If you followed our patch-test recommendation and removal still caused damage, email support@batizz.com within 7 days of removal with photos. We will:
- Provide manufacturer adhesion test data to help your dialogue with the landlord.
- Replace the affected kit components free of charge.
- Where applicable, share supplier insurance contact for damage claims.
We cannot:
- Pay your landlord’s deposit deduction.
- Intervene in your tenancy dispute or sign any document concerning your rental.
- Be held responsible for damage from non-patch-tested applications, applications on surfaces we explicitly warn against (above), or applications that breach a tenancy clause.

6. Acceptance at checkout
Where the cart contains a kit tagged “renter-friendly”, the Customer is invited (not required) to confirm at checkout that they have read this disclaimer and have done or will do a patch test. The acknowledgement is recorded with the order for the Seller’s reference.
